Creating An Effective Call-to-Action Button on your Blogs and Posts

What is a Call-to-Action?

A call-to-action is essential for your business to have at the end of each of your content. A call-to-action (CTA) is a button you can use on your content to drive prospective customers to your website, where they can then convert on a form and be added to your contacts database. CTAs should be visually attractive, action-oriented, and easy to locate on your pages and emails. In some cases, your business can have multiple call-to-action buttons but normally your business only needs one per blog or post.

The most useful place to put call-to-action is at the end of your blogs. A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one is run by an individual or business, that is written in an informal or conversational style. The purpose of a blog for a business is to educate and inform it’s target audience on a specific subject matter when that targeted audience searches something correlated to your business.

Blogging is never for selling. I REPEAT, BLOGGING IS NEVER FOR SELLING! Putting a call-to-action at the end of your blog typically entices the reader to want to find out more. Most people are willing to give a business their contact information in exchange for information that will be useful to them. 

How You Should Craft Your Call-to-Action

Crafting your call-to-action button is a very important step in the CTA process. You must have a button that sticks out and is easy to read. Usually, this button says something like, “Click here to download our free workbook”. It can also say something like, “Download our free informative checklist today”. Whatever it says it must be clear to the user what he/she should do after reading the blog. The button must be clear in what the reader will get if he/she clicks on it. 

What You Should Give Your Targeted Audience for Clicking Your Call-to-Action Button

The call-to-action button should give your targeted audience something useful for the reader. The reader is already on your site so it is more than likely they are already interested in your company at least a little bit. This is a perfect opportunity for your business to give your audience a gift. That gift or call-to-action can be anything: download an ebook, sign up for a webinar, get a coupon, attend an event, etc. A CTA can be placed anywhere in your marketing — on your website, in an ebook, in an email, or even at the end of a blog post.

What You Should Receive From Your Targeted Audience When They Click Your Call-to-Action Button

A call-to-action is most effective if your company creates a specific landing page for the reader when he/she clicks on the call-to-action button. Your business should make a proposition for the reader if he/she wants the useful information. In exchange for the useful information, the reader should give your company it’s contact information. Your business should make it mandatory for at least the reader’s full name and email. It is a good idea to put a phone number section there as well but we suggest not making it mandatory.
